Toilet Repairs — Problems we fix
Most toilet problems have a clear cause and a straightforward fix. Here’s what we deal with regularly:
- Toilet won’t flush — flush valve failure, broken siphon, low water in cistern
- Toilet keeps running — faulty fill valve, worn flap valve or damaged overflow
- Weak or slow flush — partially blocked pan, low cistern fill level, siphon wear
- Cistern won’t refill — ball valve or fill valve failure, isolation valve fault
- Leaking toilet — pan-to-floor seal failure, cistern-to-pan connector, pipe joint leaks
- Toilet rocking or unstable — loose floor fixings, damaged pan collar
- Blockages — manual and mechanical clearing, inspection and root cause advice
- Toilet making noise — fill valve vibration, overflow trickle, phantom flushing.

Toilet Installation — New toilets fitted in Birmingham
Whether you’re renovating a bathroom, replacing a broken toilet, or upgrading to a more modern design, we install all types of toilet across Birmingham properties:
• Close-coupled toilets — the most common design, cistern sits directly on the pan
• Back-to-wall toilets — sleek look with concealed cistern built into the wall or furniture unit
• Wall-hung toilets — suspended off the floor for a contemporary finish and easy cleaning
• Slimline and space-saving designs — ideal for smaller cloakrooms and en suites
• Comfort-height toilets — slightly taller pan for accessibility and comfort.
We can supply and fit, or fit only if you’ve already purchased your toilet. If you’re buying your own, check the rough-in distance and soil pipe connection type with us before purchasing — it saves problems on the day.
Toilet Removal and Disposal
If we’re fitting a replacement toilet, we include removal and responsible disposal of the old one as part of the job. You don’t need to arrange a skip or figure out how to get rid of it yourself. We take it away and the only thing left behind is a properly fitted, tested new toilet.
Cistern Repairs — Understanding what's inside
Most toilet problems come from the cistern — the tank on the back or inside the wall that holds the water for flushing. Inside a standard cistern there are two main components: the fill valve (which refills the cistern after a flush) and the flush valve or siphon (which releases the water into the pan). Both wear out over time. Replacing them is a relatively quick job that stops constant running, fixes a weak flush, and often solves unexplained water bill increases.
We carry standard fill valves, siphons and flap valves in our vans, so in most cases this can be fixed on the same visit without ordering parts.

Frequently asked questions
Here are some of the more common questions we get asked
Got questions about a toilet repair or installation? Here are some of the things our customers ask us most.
My toilet keeps running after flushing — is it a big problem?
It’s worth fixing promptly. A constantly running toilet can waste 200–400 litres of water per day, which adds up significantly on a metered supply. It’s nearly always a worn flap valve or faulty fill valve — a quick and inexpensive fix.
Can you fix a toilet blockage the same day?
In most cases, yes. We carry tools for manual and mechanical clearing. If the blockage is further down the soil pipe or drain, we can advise on next steps including CCTV drain inspection if required.
My toilet is leaking at the base — what's causing it?
This is usually a failed pan-to-floor seal or a problem with the soil pipe connection collar. Both require the toilet to be temporarily removed to reseal correctly. It’s important to get this sorted quickly to prevent water damage to the subfloor.
I've bought a toilet online — can you just fit it?
Yes, we offer a supply-only fitting service. Before the visit, let us know the make, model and dimensions so we can confirm it’s compatible with your existing soil pipe and floor fixings. We’ll fit it and take away any packaging on the day.
Can you fit a toilet in a new cloakroom or en suite?
Yes. If you’re creating a new toilet room, we’ll run all the necessary pipework including the soil pipe connection and cold water supply. We’ll advise on the best soil pipe route and check compliance with building regulations where required.
How long does toilet installation take?
A standard toilet swap typically takes 1–2 hours including removal of the old unit and connection testing. A wall-hung toilet with concealed cistern frame takes longer — usually 4–6 hours depending on the wall construction and access.
